The debut album of Coldplay (Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion) gives us great emotions with 10 authentic Brit-rock jewels. Inspired by such models like Pink Floyd (the third track, Spies, could be included in the Floyd's album Ummagumma) and Radiohead and with a sound sometimes similar to the young Gomez, these four English lads give us an extremely melancholic but not "depressing" album, full of tormented and dreaming music, almost suspended in an indefinite time, accompanied by the splendid powerful shy voice of Chris Martin.
The sound is much luminous and clean and the instruments are very well defined not exhibiting themselves in useless "technical" performances.
Perhaps it lacks a little bit of originality since sometimes you can have the idea of songs you've already listened to, but is a very beautiful re-listening!!
It's not a very Summer album, there aren't breezy bright lively atmospheres we should look for want in this holiday, but you absolutely can't miss for those foggy evenings, swept by the wind, when we would want a music that could lead us hand by hand into our dreams.

The best songs are Don' t Panic, Spies, Yellow and Trouble.
